Shams

Shams are decorative bedding covers designed to add a finished layer to a bed while protecting pillows from everyday dust and contact. Their removable format makes them easier to launder separately from pillow inserts, and their fabric and texture can coordinate with sheets, blankets, and other bedding for a cohesive room setting.

Organic cotton shams are valued for their natural fiber content, breathable feel, and soft surface. Matelassé weaving creates a subtly raised, quilt-like pattern without requiring a separate thick filling, adding visual texture while keeping the cover flexible. These characteristics make matelassé shams useful as both decorative accents and practical pillow covers.

The Mirada Organic Matelasse Sham features organic cotton and a textured matelassé finish. Its woven surface gives bedding dimensional detail, while the removable cover helps keep pillows cleaner and simplifies routine care. Coordinating a sham with sheets or a coverlet can create a layered look in a bedroom without changing the function of the pillow.

The Angeles Organic Matelasse Sham also combines organic cotton with a raised, woven texture. It provides a soft covering for pillows and contributes a tailored appearance to a bed, with a design suited to everyday bedding as well as guest-room use. Its natural-fiber construction is relevant for people seeking organic textile options in home linens.

Shams are distinct from fitted sheets, nursery bedding, and mattress layers, though they can form part of a coordinated bedding setup. Organic crib bedding is sized and designed for infant sleep environments, while wool mattress toppers add a separate cushioning layer. Understanding these differences helps match each textile to its intended purpose and care needs.
